Newburyport Weekend

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

I have to start this out by immediately acknowledging some people with a huge thank you! A big thanks to The Busy creative, Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Olivia from Runway for Recovery. None of this weekend would have been possible or anywhere nearly as amazing without them and their hard work. In this post I want to highlight SO many things about this incredible weekend and hopefully encourage some of you to check out The Busy Creative and their brand, all Newburyport has to offer and most importantly, what an impact Runway 4 Recovery has made for so many people and families.

This weekend we were graciously housed at the Dunes Property that is managed by Sandy Cheeks properties. Our home overlooked the ocean and I was in awe that this little slice of heaven called Plum island was just a 45 minute ride from Boston, this south shore girl loved it! If you are ever looking to visit, here is a link to the house that I was in! Plum Island has so much charm and you are greeted by the cutest airport imagineable when you get there. I spotted out the Sunset Club PI and knew it was going to be the best and it was. Picture a beach bar with bright fun decor, a merch stand, activities and frozen espresso martinis, need I say more?

Upon arrival and the start of our weekend, we had a fun dinner right in our home with a gorgeous tablescape done by Seacoast Picnic and the Bubble Bar Boston serving us such incredibly fun drinks. This night was all about getting to know each other, enjoying the company, delicious food and treats (shout out to Meant to Brie boards, Cafe Sarina, and Buttermilk Baking Co) meeting some incredible woman and preparing for all that was to come. It was the perfect kick off event for the weekend. I also can't forget the incredible swag bags that were waiting for us!

On Friday some of the woman started out with a work out and some hung at the house, we were treated to coffee and pasteries from

Olives and I sat and watched the ocean while

Drinking coffee alone, what a treat 😂 ! But then it was time to get ready and check out Newburyport. We headed to Interlocks for our blow outs and then had such a fun lunch at the cutest store Haven where we got to shop and also got to do some decoupaging with Sailormade. I got to create an adorable oyster shell ornament with a little help from my new friend Ashley from Noted Candles while enjoying a lunch from Metzys!

I picked up the cutest salt and pepper shakers at Haven for my house and was obsessed with basically everything in there.

Then it was time for the to runway for recovery runway show. Olivia who we got to meet Thursday started runway in memory of mother who passed from breast cancer. Olivia is strong, kind, funny, fashionable and just truly incredible. Her presence is a power in the most graceful way. I was very excited for the event but truly had no idea how impactful it would be. This event has been happing for over 15 years and brings together survivors, family's, woman currently going through treatment. Their goal is to help fund anything from travel, to an oil bill, grocery's to daycare and so much more. They want to be able to take off some burdens and help the families focus on the other things. This runway event allowed these families to tell their story, create awareness to the charity and also give them a night where it's about them having fun, dancing, being cheered or and supported. There was never a dry eye in the room and you completely understood the importance of donating, supporting and spreading awareness. Here is the link to learn more about it and then a link if you feel that you would also like to donate! This was my first time attending this event but can promise it will not be my last.

On Saturday we really got to check out the downtown area of Newburyport and I just fell in love. It was the picture perfect fall New England day with their yearly Octoberfest going on. There was shopping, music, food and drink. We had such an incredible lunch at Sea Level while there (umm hi cool ranch chicken tacos!!) and got to pop in so many stores! It was the perfect day and I loved seeing all the people and families enjoy the Octoberfest.

Later that evening we got to shop at the super fashionable boutique Charleston and Coco and also Virtue jewelers where I picked up the most gorgeous pair of rose gold earrings and left with my ring looking shiny as new! This all happened before another we had another incredible meal, this time at Bar 25. Every meal we had was just so incredible and I was so impressed by it all. The town of Newburyport has this special feeling to it. The residents and business owners are hard working, kind and proud of their home. I feel honored and grateful for all they did to host us and truly can't tell you enough how much I would recommend a visit there. It has that true New England feeling, less than an hour from Boston and right on the water. Checks off all my boxes! I truly hope you are able to check it out one day!

I can't forget to give a shout out to all the women that were on this trip with me. Influencing and putting yourself out on the internet is a funny thing but can lead you to really great places and people. I love each women that was with me and am so thankful for their friendship, picture taking skills, laughs and memories that were created. 💕

I've also linked all my outfits worn on the trip on LTK.

Thanks for reading and being here.

With love,

Ashley
